This morning God showed me a vision of a crown of thorns placed in the middle of this empty white space and surrounding it were many other crowns. They’re were all different shapes and sizes. They had different jewels on them. They were scattered everywhere. I felt God say that we are apart of His kingdom. We are heirs to him. We have royalty running through our veins. All we have to do is pick up our crown and claim the victory. Claim the Power of Jesus. Later on in prayer I began to see that each crown had a different word on it. Such as: joy, hope, peace, comfort, forgiveness. God is saying whatever it is you need pick up your crown and wear it. You have the victory and power.

God can see behind the mask. He sees the purest and true heart of a person. Your darkest thoughts, deepest secrets, they’re all out in the open with Him. There are no secrets kept from God. For Him it’s like reading an open book. It’s all very clear. Re-evaluate yourself. What is in your heart? Are you holding on to things you need to let go of? Are worldly things taking up God’s space? It’s always good to take a step back and check yourself. Where are your intentions and are they true. You have to learn your heart, God already knows it from left to right. Take that as a security. No matter what others say, God knows the real you, your heart. The heart of a person reveals everything. Only worry about what God is seeing, not what others are saying.

When a person is careless with their words reacting before thinking can be a result. The phrase “Think before you speak,” comes to mind. If you’re rash with your words, it’s the complete opposite of that phrase. Words are powerful. The book of James talks about your mouth being a rudder. One part of that scripture even says “Do good and bad water flow from the same spring?” The same mouth we use to speak highly of others is the same mouth we use when we choose tear them down. Proverbs is full of wisdom. Literally, the word wisdom is used on several occasions. The text says “Rash language cuts and maims.” Our words can cut into people. You can do much damage with the language that comes out of your mouth. BUT you can also bring healing. You can uplift and edify the body of Christ. When also speaking about our words and mouth, truth and lies are important. This scripture says “Truth lasts; lies are here today, gone tomorrow.” Lies are temporary, the affects are long term, but the truth always comes out. The truth last forever. Lies are so pointless from the get go, but in some form or fashion, we tell them everyday. Our words have meaning and truth. We shouldn’t abuse that by trying to altercate lies. Don’t waste time on a lie. The truth is as good as it gets. Be careful with your words, with what you say and how you say them.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 NIV
“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. “So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture: They kill us in cold blood because they hate you. We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one. None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” Romans 8:31-39 MSG
I love these words. In all versions. There is nothing and no one that can come between you and God. You can’t separate yourself from Him because He will never leave you. You can try your hardest to push him way, but He is always there. No force from the enemy or our enemies here on earth can drive us away from Him. He is here for the long haul. He gave His all for us. Someone who gives everything and puts it all out on the line must really love us, and He does. It’s evident in these scriptures. I’ve been hearing the word evident over and over again. Howver, this is the first time I’ve put it together in this way. God’s love is evident, it is so evident. We can never doubt it. It’s there. It’s unending. It’s forgiving. I love how in different versions of this text it reads “No.” No as in don’t fear, don’t doubt, dont worry. No as in you are a victor. No as in we are concquerors, it says so in the text. No as in there’s no need to question it. No as in don’t hesitate. It also says the “overwhelming victory is ours”, not just the victory but the overwhelming victory. Meaning He has so much for us, more than we can imagine. God loves. He will never leave. And it’s those two statements that mean everything.
Represent your own idea of you. Don’t be afraid of being you. I hate the term “First Impressions.” Nine times out of ten first impressions are completely false and completely judgmental. I know I’ve done it before myself, not proudly. I’ve been told from someone that they thought I was mean. I’ve been told I looked stuck up because of my blonde hair, or because I was a cheerleader. Every time I receive that I get “but I like you now.” “I know that’s not how you are.” People are going to make assumptions. I had the chance to go to Girls State this summer at the University of Alabama. I was so in shock when my roommates and the girls that were in my city told me their first impressions of what they thought of me. They were all positive. I don’t know if it was because I was somewhere where no one knew me, but I felt like I had the opportunity to truly be me. It felt good. It felt good to be recognized for something positive instead of something negative. What I’m trying to say is that I know it’s hard to try to reinvent yourself or be who you are when everyone around you has already made their mind up on who you are. I’ve also learned that all I can do is try and be a better version of me each day. I drew so many insecurities for so long from words that people had said to me and spoken over me. It took forever to break them off and still sometimes, a lot of the time, they try to creep back into my mind. Those five words “Represent your own idea and you” were like 💣 to me. I know what my heart is and who I am. I know I’m not perfect. I know I’ll sometimes say things I shouldn’t or react without thinking. I know I’ll make mistakes and mess up. I also know that I’m imperfect. We’re all trying, trying our best. I’m determined to make a better me. I make that a point in my prayer time to be better tomorrow than I was today. I always feel like I could have said more or less. I could have done more or done something different. Life is a learning process. People’s impressions of us shouldn’t mean anything, because most of the time we don’t even know who we are yet. I’m on the path of figuring out everything about me. What I can do is portray that in my everyday life. That’s an eye opener to me. To try harder. To do it. So that’s my challenge for myself and others. Represent the you that you see yourself as. People may not respond, but they can see it. You’re not trying to impress anyone anyways so what do you have to lose. Block out people’s opinions. Focus on how you view yourself. Get yourself aligned right inside and out. Feeling good about yourself- feels good. Know your identity. Be yourself, be genuine, and it will show through. Our human flesh still breaks through ever now and then, or for me, more times than it should. But my mindset now is at the end of the day do I please myself with how I represented “me” today? I say all this to mainly empower myself, because it’s something I struggle with everyday. I feel like I didn’t do the job. Today I break that off. I’m going to be the best version of me for me. No excuses.
“For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.” 1 Peter 2:15-17
• You are going to be slammed because of your faith, because of your walk with God. Not everyone is going to get you. Not everyone will like how you live your life or who you’re living it for. However, God gives us advice on what to do in these situations: He clearly states in His word to ignore the foolishness. What good can come from reacting?
• We are called to be free. We are not to live in captivity of fear or sin. The word says “Live as free people.” The word is also very wise in what it says next: do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil. Don’t abuse the freedom God has given us, we are still suppose to live by God’s commandments.
• Show respect to everyone. Respect others including yourself. Respect your peers and your family. Giving respect earns your respect.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 God placed in us the spirit of bravery right from the beginning when He gave His life for us. He repeatedly displayed bravery throughout His life and because we are a part of Him we have that same bravery inside of us. We are unstoppable through Him. Nothing can defeat you.
“I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is He is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life He has for His followers, oh, the utter extravagance of His work in us who trust Him—endless energy, boundless strength!” Ephesians 1:15-19 MSG
God has a plan for your life. He wants you to flourish. He has created you and only one you. You have a purpose and a destiny. No one can fulfill the plan for your life but you. There is no other you. You are one of a kind. No one else can do what you are called to do in life. That is why you are so important. The world needs you. You are the missing piece to the puzzle. You are special. He gives you energy and strength to take on each day of your journey. Prosper! Be a victor! Be focused! The same words in the book of Esther apply to you also:
“If you keep silent at this time, liberation and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s house will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.” Esther 4:14 HCSB
Who knows? Maybe your time is now. Don’t miss it by giving up or turning away from who God has called you to be. Have endurance, be persistent. There is no other you. The world needs you. It needs your creativity. It needs your talent. It needs your work ethic. It needs everything you have to offer, you are not a waste. You are everything. God needs you. He needs you be the real you. He needs you to step into your calling. You will change circumstances and lives. God needs your help. If you are who has planned for you to be, then you’re working in His plan. He needs your help in completing the works that He has for the world.
I am a firm believer that having a postive mindest and outlook on life can shift your atmosphere. Even when everything seems that it is down in the dumps, think of something good. There is always a good. If you catch yourself in the gutter and can’t seem to feel anothing good, take a breath. Breathe. Push aside your thoughts. Think of everything you have to be happy about it what you have to look forward to. Having a good attitude is key. Having a good attitude sets you apart from the crowd. Have a good attitude about your school or your job. Have a good attitude when dealing with others. Have a good attitude in general and about life. You will go so much farther in life with a good attitude rather than a bad attitude. Especially when it comes to interveiwing for scholarships or jobs. “So much in life depends on your attitude.” That is so true. How you look and feel about yourself shows in your attitude. The respect you have for yourself and others is displayed in your attitude. Your attitude can determine someone else’s attitude. Whoever your are influencing watches you like a hawk. Whether you have younger siblings or older siblings, your behavior can affect your whole family. You can bring people and their days down with your words and actions. Be the person who can easily make someone’s day with just your presence. Life is so precious. You don’t want to spend whatever time you have being negative, live a happy life! God wants us to be happy. Happiness is inside of you, you just might have to dig a little deep to find it!
